Hello! I’m Matthew, a rising Sophomore from the Stony Brook School. I’m the son of two loving Peruvian immigrants that come from Lima. I speak English and Spanish. I can also write in Latin. No, I do not have a favorite color lol. The main interests that really keep me up at night are science, specifically chemistry and physics, math, and music production. My music can be found here. I enjoy roaming around the two extremes of types of communities such as rural areas and urban areas although I’m from the suburbs, the most boring type of place to be in America.

Ever since I went to my school’s Guatemala trip and realized that many children from their early childhood to early high schoolers in poor communities were enthusiastic about learning, I realized I was in a world of like-minded individuals.
It’s not just wealthy who are the only ones who strive to grow in wisdom and intelligence, It’s also the poor and margenalized who have drive to explore our natural world and even make a change.
On top of curiosity, these children I met were compassionate and loving to their peers. They were humble and had the will to try in their eyes… all in the midst of hardships.
It’s hard to remember that true character and wisdom is shown when one stops hiding behind the illusion of material, and humbles themselves with service and love.
